Nnenna Nwakanma, widely known as “Nnenna from the Internet,” is an African tech pioneer with over three decades of expertise in community building, policy innovation, international cooperation and digital governance.
Her work focuses on helping organisations navigate complex intersections of people, policy and products, while addressing policy barriers and advancing systemic change for development. She is a recognised voice for open, rights-based and human-centred technology.
Nnenna is a champion for meaningful and empowering Artificial Intelligence, bringing expertise across law, international relations, e-diplomacy, AI diplomacy, citizen participation and multistakeholder engagement.
She serves as a Chief Web Advocate and AI Ambassador, is a faculty member at the School of Internet Governance and mentors young AI professionals. Her work spans AI governance, data governance, health technology, global partnerships and the role of Africa in shaping the future of technology.
